Tired Eyes

Our eyes are wondrous and beautiful things, but we’re probably all guilty of taking them a little too much for granted. Our eyes work very hard for us but they get tired. Over time when eyes get tired, the surrounding skin droops and sags, leaving you with a very negative and worn out appearance. Tired eyes can have a negative impact on all other facial features and if ignored, tired eyes can become a permanent and troubling problem.
When you have tired eyes it’s very important to be aware of the symptoms and the reasons why. When your eyes are tired, your eyelids feel heavy, and your eyes feel like they are burning and have grit in them. Subsequently you may find yourself rubbing them, which causes the eyes to go red. To avoid this, always ensure you get the right amount of sleep if you want your eyes to look and feel their best and if your work involves a computer, ensure you take adequate breaks and are not staring at the screen for hours on end. Pollution acts as an irritant for eyes, so try to stay out of environments that could harm your eyes. Likewise, smoking can also make your eyes look and feel very tired.
But cheer up, the good news is that eyes which look permanently tired can not only be avoided, they can also be fixed.

Eye Lift

Eye Lift surgery is becoming a firm favourite amongst people who would never have considered having a cosmetic surgical procedure before. Also known as blepharoplasty, the process works by reducing bagginess from lower eyelids and removing excess skin from the upper eyelids.
An Eye Lift does not eradicate shadows under the eyes or crow’s feet but it removes the excess skin, muscle and underlying fatty tissue which make your eyes look tired, and gives you your youthful sparkle back. The Eye Lift procedure is relatively simple and takes about two hours under local anaesthesia. The surgeon will make incisions and will remove the excess fat, skin and muscle. The incisions will be closed with very small sutures which will remain for three to six days.
You should book about a week off work following surgery to allow your eyes time to heal. After the operation ensure that you have a handy supply of ice packs, eye drops, and clean washcloths readily available. Patients may experience dry eyes post surgery but the condition rarely lasts more than two weeks. The good news is, the procedure is can last a lifetime.
